Great melody for classical nylong string guitar

Ashokan Farewell is one of those songs that seems to sound best when played on a nylon string classical guitar or an unamplifed fiddle. This haunting, melancholy song has the same "aura" that I find when I play Don McLeans "Starry, Starry Night" on my solo guitar. This simple melody...when played with very SLOW, un-metered passion, can bring tears to the listeners eyes. I suggest that you consider playing this wonderful ballad outdoors on a moonlit night, when the mood is right or when the audience is attentive and silent. Its a remarkably, uniquely memorable piece that is destined to become a classic. Though people recognize this song because they have heard it before, they ALWAYS ask the name of it...because few people know this songs title. Amazing, isnt it?

ashokan farewell

Very first song I bought off of Musicnotes...and it got me hooked. Such a great rendition of this song, (which is already a great song), easy to play while sounding somewhat like its difficult (from what some listeners have told me). YOU SHOULD GET THIS SONG.

Pure and simple arrangement

Easy, sightreadable arrangement. Great for use by violin/cello duet as well
